The Weekly Recipe by Kasandra Lechleiter

 



Recipe: Chocolate Chip Cookies (no. 36) Category: Desserts

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter, unsalted

  • 3/4  cup pure cane sugar

  • 3/4  cup brown sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 21/2 cups all-purpose flour, unbleached

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp salt, heaping

  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

Notes:

  • Prep time: 15 minutes

  • Cook time: 40 minutes

  • Total time: 55 minutes

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 375*F

  2. Mix together the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and pure cane sugar

  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to mixture, mix well

  4. In a separate bowl, sift flour, baking soda, and salt together

  5. Mix the sifted dry ingredients into the creamed mixture

  6. Add the chocolate chips, thoroughly mixing dough

  7. OPTIONAL: Chill the cookie dough for about 2 hours or more

  8. Scoop onto a cookie sheet

  9. Bake at 375*F for 10-11 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly golden

  10. When removing cookies from oven, remove from cookie sheet and let cool on wire rack
